Design & Installation

The process of design and planning to ensure your compressed air system installation works effectively and efficiently can be complex and challenging. At Mid-Tech we have factory trained engineers and the resources to provide systems of any scale for any industrial or commercial applications.

The ultimate success of an air compressor system begins with the system design. If it is not properly designed, the result can be poor performance, high energy costs, and low productivity. In designing the system, the factors to consider include the application needs. How much compressed air does your company need, where will it be stored, how will it be distributed, and what level of quality do you want in your compressed air?

For the demand, the designer must know what operating pressure is needed to meet that demand. Compressed air quality depends on the water vapour, oil and solid particle content contained in the final product. The quality levels can be managed with the appropriate choice of compressor and what dryer or filtration system is used. An adequate air receiver tank will provide efficient storage without excessive cycling.

The distribution system should ensure that the right amount of air reaches the demand points if and when needed and in the right pressure, without leakage. A compressed air system is comprised of risers, distribution pipes, service pipes and compressed air fittings to connect all of the constituent parts together – ideally with a minimum of bends and fittings. The fewer obstructions the better.

We begin with a diagram of the compressed air needs which helps locate the compressor plant centrally, in an area where the intake air is of good quality and away from dust, vapours, and steam. Our installation service offers a full project management service for turnkey systems, handling supply and installation from start to finish. We are able to supply and install Transair pipework, Infinity pipework, stainless steel, copper, nylon and PVC, UPVC and ABS.

Infinity’s non-corrosive extruded aluminium provides structural strength and delivers contaminate free air in a leak free piping system. The smooth bore of Infinity piping prevents high pressure losses and allows for higher flow rates and performance than that of plastic systems. The zero condensate swan neck fitting is unique to the Infinity piping range and further ensures water free quality air supply. No air leakage ensures minimum running costs.

Beyond installation and design of ring main systems, Mid-Tech can supply aluminium pipe, straight connectors, elbows, tees, plugs and reducers, ball valves, condensate exhaust fittings, clips and brackets, saddle clamps, outlet fittings and manifolds, safety couplings, hose reels and tubing and adaptors and fittings.
