  • Fixed or variable speed solutions, air audits and air treatment products
Compressors

Compressor solutions delivered by Mid-Tech include oil-free, oil-lubricated screw compressor packages, rotary vane compressors, and piston compressors. Among these types, there are fixed and regulated speed, high pressure, silent, and portable compressors. It does not end with the compressors. We also have side channel blowers, radial fans, dry running and oil lubricated rotary vane and screw vacuum pumps as well as liquid ring, rotary lobe and claw vacuum pumps.

While the compressor is at the heart of any installation, it is the air treatment technology and the downstream equipment, plus Mid-Tech’s expertise that really counts – ensuring that your solution runs efficiently, gives you total peace of mind and delivers the air quality that your specific application demands.

Our filters remove oil that can contaminate compressed air. The filter efficiency depends on the compressor’s type, age, design and condition. Filters are often setup in multistage. Fibre filters can only trap oil as droplets, while more efficient active carbon can trap oil as a vapour. Filters are essential if the compressed air needs to be 100 percent clean.

Mid-Tech offers dryers to help contend with moisture that results during air compression. If the moisture is not removed, it becomes corrosive which has a detrimental effect on pneumatic equipment, causing unnecessary production downtime, product spoilage and reduced equipment life. Compressed air dryers remove water vapour before air reaches the point of use.

There are three types of air dryers – refrigerant, desiccant, and a hybrid of the two. A refrigerant dryer cools the incoming compressed air with a refrigerant cooling agent inside a closed system, condensing the water it contains. This water is then separated from the air. Our CompAir refrigerant dryer has an evaporator, compressor, condenser and expansion device.

Desiccant drying absorbs water vapour in a desiccant material. There are various types of desiccant dryers, including heatless regenerative and heat regenerative. The heatless regenerative dryer uses purge air to regenerate the desiccant material, while heat regenerative dryers use a zero purge electric heat disk.

Our condensate management removes condensation, which is the moisture that drops out of the air flow as it cools. Condensation in a compressed air system is a constant threat to equipment. There are two types of electronic level-controlled condensate drains. One offers capacitive level control without mechanical moving parts which discharges condensate at low operating pressures. The other uses non-wearing magnetic core level control with an integrated dirt screen between the level measurement and drain valve.

Electronic condensate drains work on compressed air and industrial gases, in conjunction with compressed air filters, refrigeration dryers, wet air receivers and after coolers to remove condensate. Condensate draining equipment is more than an option. Getting rid of condensate is a necessity.
